“HEAVEN (CANDLELIGHT MIX)” RE-IGNITES RADIO

just wanted to share…because I read these lyrics last night and was immediately touched and even shed a few tears…the song “heaven” lyrics…lyrics with a star by them…interpretation of how a little girl who lost her father on 9/11 was feeling…not sure if these are actual words someone said…or a creative interpretation of loss that huge amounts of people experienced…it reads like girl talking to her father…and he answers her even though she can’t hear, but maybe she can on another level…in her heart. :)

HEAVEN (CANDLELIGHT MIX)” RE-IGNITES RADIO
September 24, 2002

DJ Sammy & Yanou featuring Do song “Heaven” so popular that some stations are simultaneously programming two different versions of the ultra-hot hit.

New York, NY — Throughout the summer, DJ Sammy has blanketed radio airwaves with his smash hit “Heaven,” an infectious remake of the well-known Bryan Adams song described by Billboard Magazine as a tune that will “bring a smile to the face and keep the toes tapping.” In fact, it’s such a popular cut that many stations are augmenting the original dance version with the tender “Candlelight Mix” of the same song. From coast to coast, dozens of radio stations–including Z-100 in New York and KIIS-FM in Los Angeles–have placed “Heaven (Candlelight Mix)” into heavy rotation, with many continuing to play the previous rendition of the tune, too.

The haunting “Heaven (Candlelight Mix)” consists of vocalist Do (Dominique Van Hulst) accompanied solely by a soft piano. Available exclusively on DJ Sammy’s debut album, also titled Heaven, the number is a moving, emotional interpretation that’s both poignant and powerful. As a matter of fact, one radio station, KKXX-FM Bakersfield CA 96.5 Kiss FM, even created a unique, unauthorized “9/11 Mix” reading of “Heaven (Candlelight Mix),” spotlighting a little girl’s message to her missing father, that quickly became one of the most requested songs in that station’s history.

Artist: DJ Sammy Lyrics
Song: Heaven (911 Remix) Lyrics

*It’s been a year daddy
I really really miss you
Mommy says your safe now
In a beautiful place called heaven*

Oh I’m thinking about our younger years

*We had your favorite dinner tonite*

there was only you and me

*I ate it all up*

We were young and wild and free

*Even though I don’t like carrots*

Now nothing can take you away from me

*I learned how to swim this summer*

We’ve been down that road before

*I can even open my eyes*

But that’s over now

*While I’m under water*

You keep me coming back for more

*Can’t you see me?*

Baby you’re all that I want
When you’re lying here in my arms
I’m finding it hard to believe
We’re in heaven

*I started kindergarten this year*

Love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn’t too hard to see
We’re in heaven

*I carry a picture of us
In my Blue’s Clues lunchbox*

Oh once in your life you find someone

*You are the greatest daddy*

Who will turn your world around
Pick you up when you’re feeling down
Now nothing can change what you mean to me

*I can swing on the swing by myself*

There’s a lot that I could say
But just hold me now

*Even though I miss you pushing me*

Cause our love will light the way

*Can’t you see me?*

Baby you’re all that I want
When you’re lying here in my arms
I’m finding it hard to believe
We’re in heaven

*I miss how you used to tickle me*

And love is all that I need

*Tickle my belly*

And I found it there in your heart

*My belly hurts*

It isn’t too hard to see
We’re in heaven

*I try not to cry*

I’ve been waiting for so long

*Mommy says it’s okay*

For something to arrive
For love to come along

*I know you don’t like it when I cry*

Now our dreams are coming true
Through the good times and the bad

*You never wanted me to be sad*

I’ll be standing there by you

*I try Daddy but it hurts*

Baby you’re all that I want

*Is it true you’re not coming home?*

When you’re lying here in my arms

*Maybe someday*

I’m finding it hard to believe
We’re in heaven

*I can visit you in heaven, okay?*

And love is all that I need
And I’ve found it there in your heart
It isn’t too hard to see
We’re in heaven

*It’s time for me to go bed now
I sleep with the light on
Just in case you come home
And kiss me good night
I love you so much
I miss you Daddy*

Orange County, CA Human Trafficking Relay

I’m proud to say that I was able to be part of history last Saturday. VietAct hosted the first ever human trafficking relay in Orange County at Little Siagon in Garden Grove, CA. The sight of hundreds of students rallying together early (and I mean early) on a Saturday morning to tell the world and their community they will not tolerate human trafficking brings tears to my eyes. The walk was broken up into stations with different activites. I think my favorite was making a sign and commiting to do what I can to abolish human trafficking and getting my picture taken for a visual protest statement. We even walked through the little mall and held a mini rally on the center stage. I took over 200 pictures and can’t wait to post them. I’ve been on this fight for almost 2 years now and although things aren’t even near perfect I’m so excited about the progress being made. I’m proud of the friendships/networks I’ve made in this fight and thank the stars that their are like minded people.

Human trafficking- a modern-day form of slavery has come along ways in regards to awareness. I’m so happy to be part of an event like that…. I know that one day human trafficking will not be the most profitable illegal business and that one day almost every single person will know what it is. Everyday people like you and I need to know what human trafficking is and what to do if we come accross it. Almost all cases are brought to light when an ordinary citizen notices that something just isn’t right in a particular situation. So keep you eyes open and your hearts pumping.

I’m also thankful that I get to be part of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force- the task force needs people from all walks of life. It’s the differences in agencies and people that make the unity strong. It’s working together with nonprofits, government, and faith-based orgs thats going to help combat this problem. Raising awareness in the community about what human trafficking is the first step in ending this modern-day slavery. There are over 29 million people enslaved in the world today- and not just “overthere overseas” but here in My Orange County.
