Vitamin Angels: Investing in World Health

Dear Friends,

I wanted to share an incredible organization I have had the opportunity to work with over the past three years. Vitamin Angels is an international non-profit organization dedicated to fighting blindness and malnutrition in children around the world. With 1.3 billion people world wide living in absolute poverty (less than $1 per day) and one in seven being chronically malnourished, basic nutrition can mean the difference between life and death. They have recently commenced a program in Honduras to provide nutritional supplements to 30,000 children and families. Honduras joins over 40 countries internationally that have been touched by Vitamin Angels.

The mission of Vitamin Angels is to help communities help themselves through promoting self-sufficiency through training, sustainable agriculture, disaster response, and much more. Malnutrition currently threatens the future of millions of children and adults worldwide where poverty, civil and natural disasters and poor public health conditions prevail. Providing nutritional supplements is an effective way to reduce extreme mortality rates while long-term programs promoting self-sufficiency are established.

It costs less than $0.25 to prevent a child from going blind, enabling them to continue to contribute to their community and work towards a brighter future. Vitamin Angels is proud to have a team participating in the Walk for Hope and would love to have your involvement as part of the Vitamin Angels team!

Please visit www.vitaminangelalliance.org for further information and to see the international impact being made by this very dedicated team of Angels.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at alissa@christiecomm.com or by phone at 805-969-3744. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of others.
